Morel Doucet‘s work delves into the complex intersections of cultural identity, migration, and environmental justice, particularly within the context of the Afro-Caribbean diaspora. Through ceramics, illustrations, and prints, he explores narratives of vulnerability and displacement, weaving together themes of self-realization and transnational identity as a Haitian immigrant. His art serves as a diary of self-mythology, drawing from indigenous art forms and his own dreams to create whimsical yet poignant forms that not only captivate visually but also prompt reflection on urgent issues such as sea-level rise and environmental pollution.
